Salesforce has always seemed to struggle with how to make good use. Quip's first redesign since getting acquired by Salesforce shows off new features that look more like Slack and a deeper integration with the CRM leader, as founder Bret Taylor moves Quip more.
That should be ringing more bells for people than anything. Quip is the company that Salesforce bought in 2016 for 750 million (and which brought co-CEO Bret Taylor to the company). Haven't seen much conversation around the WHY for the Acumen acquisition. They want to focus on those government contracts and locking in that sweet sweet fed money. Salesforce quip slack Offline#
Salesforce should not invest any time or effort in offline capabilities imo. Salesforce for Slack Center work around customer needs by bringing the power of Salesforce data, tools, and processes directly into Slack. If all you are referring to is data entry then there are other applications out there that will allow you to have a form and dump it to a csv file which could be data loaded later. Offline is already partially supported within the salesforce mobile app but the problem is that salesforce is not and will not be designed to run offline. Although IMO it would behove them to build a desktop app to make offline access better/feasible.
